Christmas Activities Christmas Lights featured Utah State Parks

Christmas in Color Provo

We visited Christmas in Color in Kearns both last year and this year, and our boys loved it. So, we were very excited to learn that Christmas in Color was coming to Provo this year, and decided we’d be going one more time! We have a code for our readers to save 15% off: adventureincolor. This code works on either location, and is good through Dec. 16. Visit Christmas in Color to purchase tickets.

Believe it or not, the Provo location and lights are even better than the Kearns location. We don’t want to make the Kearns location sound bad because it is definitely spectacular.  We do want to contrast the two locations, and let you know how the Provo location is different. What we liked so much about the Christmas in Color Provo is that it is spread throughout Utah Lake State Park. The drive meanders around the campground and each pavilion is covered with shimmering, shooting lights. The light show seemed so much bigger because it was able to spread out a little more.

There were lights everywhere!

We were amazed at how many lights were on display here.

The trail continues to wind around the parking lot and passes through several light tunnels. There were 4 or 5 tunnels, and the last one is the longest and most impressive. It features rainbows, snowflakes, Santa spinning over your head, and about a dozen different colors.

The tunnels are our favorite part, so we loved that there were a lot of fun tunnels at this Christmas in Color location.

The lights are truly spectacular.

This tunnel is awesome. It is 3 times as long as any of the other light tunnels we have driven through.

It is SO long which makes it SO fun!

These lights are timed to music, so turn your radio to 99.9. The whole show is set to the music and it is amazing to watch the lights dance as your drive along.

The Provo location wasn’t very busy on the night we went either. There was no wait at the gate, and there were no cars crowding us either in front or behind. We enjoyed taking our time and stopping to take pictures.

This drive may be a little pricier than some of the smaller drive-thrus like Festival of Lights and Fantasy at the Bay. But, the shear volume and synchronized nature of the light show blows the competition away!
