We visited Christmas in Color in Salt Lake County both last year and this year, and our boys loved it. So, we were very excited to learn that Christmas in Color was coming to Provo. We decided to make this a yearly tradition!

Christmas in Color has moved locations again. This year it is being held in the Provo Towne Center Mall parking lot (and also at the Salt Lake Equestrian Grounds). We visited the Provo location first. The lights are spread throughout the mall parking area, and although it is in a more confined space, it still took us about 25 minutes to drive through. There is so much to look at and enjoy that you only go about 3 mph. Many of the lights and tunnels are the same as in years past, but we never get tired of watching the well timed lights and enjoying the fun music.
The trail continues to wind around the parking lot and passes through several light tunnels. There were 4 tunnels, and the last one is the longest and most impressive. It features rainbows, snowflakes, Santa spinning over your head, and about a dozen different colors. Our boys love the light tunnels the very best.
These lights are timed to music, so turn your radio to 99.9. The whole show is set to the music and it is amazing to watch the lights dance as your drive along.
The Provo location wasn’t very busy on the night we went either. There was no wait at the gate, and there were no cars crowding us either in front or behind. We enjoyed taking our time and stopping to take pictures. We also enjoyed the fun glasses that they handed to our kids when they arrived. They added some rainbow 3-D effects to the lights. We were grateful for the fun little gift.
Another fun thing they are doing this year is the Early Bird Special. If you go between 5:30-6:30 T-Th, you can drive through twice. Or you can bring another car with you and get two in for the price of one! Awesome! More info on their website.
This drive may be a little pricier than some of the smaller drive-thrus like Festival of Lights and Fantasy at the Bay. But, the massive volume and synchronized nature of the light show blows the competition away!
